About the Artist
Srishti Rana Menon
Inspired by post-war abstractionists Helen Frankenthaler, Morris Louis, Mark Rothko, and Cy Twombly, Delhi based textile designer turned artist Srishti Rana Menon’s (b.1979) abstract practice is concerned with exploring and questioning the inherent nature of the medium at hand. For instance she experiments with the properties of volume and fluidity of the acrylic pigment as well as the shapes that form naturally around the canvas’s center of gravity. Menon urges the viewer to approach works that are devoid of narrative, and to experience their colours and luminosity.
