Rashid Ahamad (b. 1987) is both a painter and an experimental visual artist known for his work with acrylic and mixed media. His creative inspiration stems from a deep engagement with spirituality, meditation, nature, and the cosmos. Utilising colours, textures, lines, and dots, Ahamad crafts abstract artworks that serve as conduits for his innermost thoughts and emotions. Through his paintings, he beckons viewers to embark on a journey into realms of transcendence, harmony, and wonder. Ahamad's art seeks to illuminate the presence of the divine in both creation and destruction, while also exploring the juxtapositions and connections between the microcosm and macrocosm, the natural and the cosmic, and the serene and the tumultuous. Grounded in his personal experiences and reflections, his paintings serve as vehicles for the communication of profound emotions and ideas with his audience.
Ahamad holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the College of Art, University of Delhi (2013) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Allahabad (2011).
