Prithuj Mondal (b. 1985) is a contemporary artist based in New Delhi. Mondal finds the transition of people moving from rural to urban areas intriguing, which serves as a significant inspiration for his work. People from various strata of society, some from rustic villages and hinterlands, migrate to cities in search of basic necessities. Over time, the vibrant colors and energy of urban life transform them, altering their perceptions and desires. The pulse of the metropolis now runs through their veins. His works reflect this shift, representing a sense of "Indianness" through the use of pure color and drawing.
Mondal completed his Bachelors in Fine Arts (B.F.A) and Master in Fine Arts degree (M.F.A) from Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan (2009 & 2012).
