Masoom Kshetrimayum's (b.1985) practice continues engagement with her abstract creations expressing visual metaphors and illusion of the visible reality. The practice has been gradually developing due to the change in the surroundings, life and events she encounters with. She is looking at the relationship between dissimilar existences of her visual reference which comes from her subconscious mind even before she could recognize it. Intentionally, she omits the unnecessary details and draws it with repetitive shapes and lines. It is an act of tearing apart objects into emotional states and aesthetic consciousness. Through it, she develops a new blurred hybrid visual, which expands through the different stages of curiosity, reality and desire. Her colour palette plays the major role of interpretation. It has never feared but comforted her. The colour selection is very instinctive. She uses a wide range of colours; vibrant, subtle and sometimes controlled. Colours speak differently when placed together and they feel a stronger relationship within.
