Krishi Shahverified

Active since 2018

Krishi Shah (b. 2000) is influenced by the gentle rhythms of the wilderness and the serene joy of being amidst nature. Her art invites viewers to fully immerse themselves in the sensations, emotions, and healing power of the natural world. From a young age, visits to her family’s farmhouse in the lush, green hills instilled in her a profound appreciation for nature. The myriad shades of green, the rhythmic pattern of rain, and the soothing rustle of leaves always lift the spirits. This connection to nature has deeply influenced Shah’s artistic journey, infusing her works with tranquillity and reverence for the natural world. During the painting process, she enters a trance, losing track of time while capturing every detail—flaws, specks of dirt, and marks—to reveal the true essence of the subject. This meditative process is profoundly fulfilling and allows her to connect deeply with her work. Her art seeks to capture nature's fleeting dance and human emotions, echoing life's poetry. Through her work, Shah advocates for the preservation of natural habitats and the mental health benefits of green spaces, striving to protect nature for future generations.
Shah has earned her Bachelors in Fine Arts degree (BFA) from California College of the Arts, San Francisco, USA (2018-22). She was also a mentee for Women in Animation (Fall 2022) Building Environment & Matte Painting by Alyssa Zarate. She has been featured in Cover art Illustration for the Reader's Digest India (2024); The Creative Gaga magazine- issue 62 (2024) & The Humble Pie journal (2022). The artist has previously worked as Mural Artist and Design Lead at Mary Ann Wright; Oakland, California (Feb-May 2022).
