About the Artist
Jayeti Bhattacharya
Kolkata based Jayeti Bhattacharya (b.1989) works with drawing, found photographs, natural materials and objects to explore ideas of home, migration, belonging, and memory. Bhattacharya’s ideas are developed in series with multiple individual components. Akin to the photo albums she scours, her series are like novellas developing a poignant narrative, containing within each image a repository of emotions and pillars of identity. Thus mud collected from various sites becomes the background wash on her work that roots each story and history to a place in time.
