Contemporary abstract artist Deepali Roongta uses her art as a medium for communicating and expressing her life experiences and its multiple effects and aspects. For her, art is something that should be transparent and hold no secrets, hence she shifted from oil paints to acrylic paints and handmade papers. Acrylics provided her with the freedom and fluidity that she wanted to achieve. Along with the medium, Deepali also changed her muse over the years. Still life art changed to abstract landscapes, therefore bringing her closer to people, their relationship with varied landscapes and emotions attached to it. Her colour palette is a mixture of earthy tones and vibrant primary colors that helps her capture the warmth and different textures of landscapes. The artworks are created based on the artist’s intuition and instincts that aims to make viewers connect with them instantly and create a long-lasting impact.
Deepali Roongta undertook training under the guidance of eminent artists Mr. Rameshwar Broota and Mr. Sanjay Roy at Triveni Kala Sangam. Her artworks have been exhibited in Solo Exhibitions like Life a Perception - India Habitat Centre (New Delhi, 2013); Vivid Clusters at Triveni Gallery - Triveni Kala Sangam (New Delhi, 2018); Strength in Stillness - India Habitat Centre (New Delhi, 2020); Mystique Hues at Triveni Gallery - Triveni Kala Sangam (New Delhi, 2022).
