Active since 2019

Anunay Rai (b. 1980) is a contemporary artist whose multidisciplinary practice explores the darkness within and around us. With a background as a former Creative Director in advertising, Rai fully devoted himself to art in 2021. His unique style blends painting, drawing, sculpture, and installation, using unpredictable markings and unconventional materials like cow dung, sawdust, and pigments. Concrete is his preferred material, but he also works with canvas, paper, and fabric based on intuition and concept.
Rai completed his Bachelors in Design from Apeejay Institute of Design, New Delhi (2003). His work has been featured in notable exhibitions including the solo exhibition No Syllabus, Lalit Kala Akademi (2022), and the AIFACS 95th All India Art Exhibition (2022) to name a few. Additionally, his piece titled Tangible Tenacity was shortlisted in the Lumen Prize 2022 in the image category.
