Anant Mishra (b. 1982), originally from Jharkhand, is a research-based visual artist whose hometown serves as a vital wellspring of inspiration for his work. His paintings embody an eclectic fusion of diverse scenes and symbols, spanning from urban landscapes to mythological motifs. Mythological tales and characters, drawn from his readings of scriptures, undergo an artistic metamorphosis in his hands. His drawings feature anthropomorphic figures with deliberately disproportionate limbs, evoking the essence of fictitious surrealist caricatures.
Mishra has earned both his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree (2005) and completed her Master of Fine Arts in Painting (MFA) in painting (2007) from College of Art, Delhi. The artist has recently showcased his works in the G20 group exhibition at Belgium Museum (2023-2024). His work has been previously showcased in several exhibitions including Artery India Exhibition (2023-2024); Floodlight foundation in India Art Fair (2017); Solo exhibition at India Art Fair by Religare Art’s (2013); and many more. His works have also been commissioned by Lok Sabha Commision & Metro Art Project by Government of India. Felicitated with the H K Kejriwal Young Artist Award  (2008)  and All India National Award by the National Literacy Mission, Government of India, the young artist is also a guest lecturer at the College of Art. Anant Mishra is based in New Delhi.
