Anamika is a Delhi based Contemporary Artist. Her artistic practice hinges on lines and textures that captures the interplay between life and societal evolution through nature’s shifting moods and their impact on human behavior. For her, creating abstract art is like a journey of seeking truth - “Her own Truth”. Her work is a part of this endless journey, but still, it is always a great challenge to take another step in that journey. A part of her artistic process is to experiment with different mediums- acrylics, oils, self-made woodcuts to mimic her personal emotions and how they are regulated by nature and society.
The use of lines and texture are the mainstay of her paintings which reflect the growth and relationship between life and society. Her works attempt to capture the basic moods of nature that change along with time frames and create different aspects of human behaviour or vice-versa.
The interplay of colours, charcoal, lines, woodcuts and textures on her canvas, portrays varied themes like Trust & Support (the foundational pillars of life), Balance (depicts the delicate equilibrium between creation and destruction), Symbiosis (depicts the symbolic relation between nature’s rhythm and human conduct ie ecological harmony), and Togetherness (intellectual and spiritual connections). Anamika believes that each of these themes share a unique relation with each other and are often shaped by individual values.
Anamika’s works are a commitment to authenticity and can be seen in her use of eco-friendly materials and practices.
