Amit Lodhverified

Active since 2008

Amit Lodh (b. 1986) is a contemporary artist from Mumbai, India, specialising in printmaking. He initially trained as a printmaker before transitioning to painting. His artwork centres around the themes of family, personal space, and the emotional nuances that accompany various life phases. Lodh’s works are narrative paintings, with each piece contributing to an ongoing story or sequence of episodes that unfold over time. He draws inspiration from mass culture, resulting in an interconnectedness between his works while also maintaining individuality in subject and object. With a keen sense of design and an awareness of surface, the artist adds complexity to his narratives through layering.
Lodh holds an M.V.A in Printmaking, M.S. University of Baroda, Gujarat (2012) and a B.F.A in Painting from Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh (2008). Lodh has exhibited his work internationally in Dubai and Korea, and in several major cities in India in exhibitions such as Vishwarang, Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal (2022), Cultivate Art, Young Collectors weekend (2022), The Art of India, Time Art Fest (2022), Kalakriti Art Gallery (2022). He has participated in various artist camps, including the National Lalit Kala Camp in Delhi (2017) and received several awards such as the Lokmanya Tilak V.V Oak Award, Pune (2008). The artist currently lives and works in Mumbai.
