Active since 2018

Abhishek Salve (b. 1996), born in Pune, has seen his artistic practice evolve significantly since 2020, becoming more expressive as he channels his inexplicable emotions into his work. His recent abstract paintings, characterised by their complexity and contradiction, aim to capture a delicate balance between visual calm and the chaotic interplay of texture and surface tension. In this intricate dance between imagination and reality, painting serves as a tool for introspective revelation, offering a pathway to deeper self-understanding and tangible representation. Salve aspires for his paintings to transcend mere visual representation, seeking instead to resonate with a profound human longing—to evoke a sense of vitality and authenticity in a society inundated by the pervasive influences of technology and commercialization. Through his exploration, he hopes to create a contemplative space within his artwork, inviting viewers to reflect upon and reconnect with the intrinsic aspects of their humanity that may be overshadowed in our fast-paced, technologically driven world.
Salve completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts(BFA) from the Bharti Vidyapeeth College of Fine Arts (2018). He has participated in various group exhibitions such as Pila at Maharashtra cultural centre, Sudarshan Rangamanch, Pune (2023); Kalagajar at Raja Ravi Varma Art Gallery, Pune (2019); Trikon at P.N.Gadgil & Son's Art Gallery, Pimpri Chinchwad (2019) and others. The artist has also exhibited his works in a solo exhibition titled as Cultural Roots at Malaka Spice, Pune (2019).
